Adopt-A-Block is an outreach and serving ministry of Christ’s Chapel into specific neighborhoods in Elsmere and Erlanger of Northern Kentucky.

Beginning in August of 2007, ministry partners of this church outreach began by providing free food in the form of a grill-out, some fun and games for the kids, and offering school supplies and bikes for children.

It is our mission to help serve the people in the Erlanger/Elsmere neighborhoods that Christ's Chapel has chosen to “adopt”. While meeting some basic practical needs, we hope to also have the opportunity to share God’s love and grace to the wonderful people we meet each week.

The Heart of Adopt-A-Block

Every Saturday church volunteers gather to make an investment into the lives of children and families living in Erlanger and Elsmere. The actual program begins at 12:00 noon and concludes at 1:15 p.m. Normal activities each week include a free lunch, contemporary music, carnival games, face painting, crafts, a bounce house, balloon animals, magic shows and several giveaway prices (including a bike each week). Our primary focus is for the kids in this community to enjoy an event designed with them in mind and for parents and families to have a safe and enjoyable place to go.

When Do We Meet?

Adopt-A-Block meets every Saturday from 12 Noon until 1:15 PM.

During the months of
November-April, we meet at the Howell Elementary School Gymnasium at 909 Central Row in Elsmere, KY, and from May-October we can be found in the Rosella Porterfield Park adjacent to the Northern Kentucky Head Start Building on Capital Avenue in Elsmere.

Adopt-A-Block Special Events

Special Annual Events are provided at no charge to the community.

An Easter Egg Hunt: This exciting event offers hundreds of eggs for the children and dozens of prices for each age group of kids. This event takes place on the Saturday before Easter Sunday.
