Teddy Roosevelt said,
‘Comparison is the thief of joy.’
It's so true! When we are always looking at what someone else has or what we don’t have, we get to a place in our lives that can be dark and unhappy. What God has for you, is for YOU! He wants to give you the desires of your heart.
When my desires become His desires, they tend to coincide in a cool way. Then I can fulfill everything that He has for me. What a great cycle! That has been a theme in my life over the last year or so: To see women encouraging and loving one another in a powerful way. In the way that changes lives.
I feel sometimes that I am in the minority, in that I love to be around other women. They make me want to be better. Look better, speak better, and even do ministry better. There is a line, however. When we are around people who distract or discourage us from our calling or constantly drain us emotionally, we can get into trouble. Our clarity is blocked. We no longer have good ideas or the ability to have vision for great new, exciting things!
Don’t be a ‘taker’. Make sure you are depositing life and love into people, just as much as you get life and love poured in to you. After all, love is what makes the world go ‘round! ;)
